This place is a treasure, I’ve been eating here and getting takeout regularly since they opened and I’ve eaten everything on the menu at one point or another. Fantastic burger options, top notch fish and chips, and I love the blackened salmon caesar salad. Great curated beer options and a solid cocktail offering always. A local gem!

Most restaurants are closed on Mondays in Oak Park, so if you are hungry and in the mood for some beers and good food, stop by kettlestrings Tavern. They have a nice selection of beer bottle amc draft. You can have some cocktails but not worth the money. They serve small glasses and not worth the 12.00 price for their version of margaritas. We were highly disappointed 😞 Food is good and is not a top-shelf kind of food but decent. I've had their fish and chips, wings, pattie melt, and grilled chicken sandwich. I would recommend all of these. I would skip their chorizo and shrip bowl dip. More grease than meat. They're was only 4 peices of small shrimp and hardly no chorizo. The bowl was filled with watery grease. I still ate it cause I was starving. I'm not sure if it was good because I was hangry or if it is worth paying for the bowl of grease. You decide as we all have our opinions.

2 for $35 burgers on Tuesday are the best! The Kettlestring burger is so so good! The truffle aioli and combo of toppings make this one tasty burger! Totally pay extra for the truffle fries, sooo worth it!!! The wings were also really good and subsided my craving for one of my favorite bar foods. Staff was really friendly and will be back to try more things for sure!

Nice corner tavern with in door and out door patio seating. Patio is dog friendly, where you can bring your dog. Bring mosquito spray if you do choose to sit out and enjoy the fresh air. There are so many bushes that hoard the annoying flying pest. I've eaten here several times and will say the food is good. I tried the shrimp and chorizo dip. It's a big bowl of water grease. There was hardly no chorizo and only 4 pieces of shrimp. It's not worth the price. Speaking of prices, I tried their creation of a margarita. For 12.00, you get a 4oz glass of a sip of the drink. They are overpriced for cocktail mix drinks. Save your money and buy a beer! So far, the pattie melt, fish and chips, and the wings have not been a disappointment.

I had a taste for dry rub chicken I was not disappointed at all. Man, their dry rub chicken wings have to be the best I've eaten in recent memory! And the French fries paired with a tasty Modelo were the perfect accompaniments. The servers were outstanding and friendly. Hats off to Fray and Kevin for making my solo dinner more enjoyable. I don't write a lot of food reviews, but if you like dry rub wings, run don't walk to Kettlestrings. I'm planning on becoming a regular patron.

Gotta get the Kettlestrings burger. Thick, juicy, flavorful, it's everything a burger arrives to be. My wife is obsessed with it. The staff are super friendly and cool, the entire place is just chill in the best of ways. Heartily recommend.

Great lunch spot! We found the server to be very attentive, sweet and checked on food allergies. She also didn’t make a big deal about splitting the check 5 ways last minute. Service was great, and the menu was even better! A limited but eccentric selection of sandwiches, appetizers and entrees. The French Onion Patty Melt was incredible!!! There’s a beautiful amount of French onions- like the delicious briny beef broth ones found in a bowl baked French onion soup- on top of a moist angus patty with Parmesan and warm Dijon. I am still thinking about this sandwich and its tasty pickles!

Random stop by and we could not have made a better choice! Great location and appeal. We chose to enjoy the outdoor experience for seating. Loved the rain lol! Whitney was a great server. Tavernritas were enjoyed! Wings were amazing and the Cajun salmon plate wonderful! Thank you for the experience!

The food here was absolutely amazing. We had the dry rub chicken wings with blue cheese and ranch and carrots and celery sticks. I thought the wings were exceptional. Very different from what you usually find in eateries, we followed that with the shrimp and chorizo, that was just a palate tease. It was beautifully seasoned and spicy but in the good way . Served with a side of sourdough toasted to perfection! We also had the ginger ale, apple cider and some cocktails as well as the part melt and Oakpark burger. It really was a delight to be there and for sure I'd be back. The setting is quite intimate but I don't let the size fool you, I left there with a very full, happy belly!

I had an outstanding experience at Kettle Strings Bar & Grille, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Freya. From the moment we sat down, she set the tone with a warm, genuine smile and an energy that made us feel instantly welcome. Freya struck the perfect balance between being attentive and giving us space to enjoy our time. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations and answering every question with confidence and honesty. You can tell she truly understands both the food and the customer experience, which is rare. What stood out most was her attention to detail. Our drinks were never empty, our food came out perfectly timed, and she checked in at all the right moments without ever being intrusive. Even during what seemed like a busy shift, she handled everything with professionalism and ease, never once making us feel rushed. Beyond her technical skills, Freya brought a level of personality and authenticity that elevated the entire experience. She’s the kind of server who turns a simple meal into something memorable. It’s clear that Freya takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about her guests. Employees like her are a huge asset to any establishment. If management is paying attention, she absolutely deserves recognition—and honestly, a raise. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’ll be asking for her by name.
